Get a Backstage Pass and Live the Experience with InFocus Digital Projection
InFocus Plays Big in New Ways

WILSONVILLE, OR (August 17, 2006) -- Pure.  Potent.  Passionate.  Projection technology integrates flawlessly with on-stage performances, music festivals and pimped out rides.  InFocus (Nasdaq: INFS), the big picture solution provider that magnifies the emotional energy and impact of immersive audio-visual experiences, dials it up a notch this year by mixing visual technology with the entertainment industry.

At this year’s annual South by Southwest (SxSW) music festival, VJ Phi Phenom, also known as Zach Putnam, accompanied Indie band, Bedtime for Toys, where he used an InFocus projector to balance striking imagery to the music as the band hit the stage.

“SxSW is incredible because it offers such an intense flow of live music. With 1,200 bands playing, it’s really hard for a group to stand out,” said Putnam. “It’s easy to ignore a band, but when we use projection to create on-stage imagery, people are instinctively attracted to it. It pulls everyone’s eyes toward the show and naturally allows the audience to connect with the music.”

And that’s just the headliner for InFocus. At this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, known as one of the industry’s most revolutionary entertainment experiences for 80,000 fans, InFocus Play Big projectors brought the experience to a new level. While attendees enjoyed Radiohead, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, and Bonnie Raitt, they could kick back in between performances at the Bonnaroo Discotèque. The Discotèque was a haven of everything from 80’s arcade games to current gaming consoles hooked up to an InFocus Play Big IN76 high-definition projector, allowing gamers to unwind with a high-definition image on a giant screen. During the evenings, InFocus heated up the dance party with electrifying visuals to accompany the music.
“Our partnerships are designed to enhance the Festival experience and digital projection is an element that helps us accomplish that,” says Chad Issaq, head of corporate partnerships for Superfly Productions, who co-produce the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival with AC Entertainment. “Many folks who attend Bonnaroo are early adopters and pride themselves on being on the edge of technology. Using digital projection for everything from gaming to our onsite cinema, to watching live performances allows our attendees to experience the event at the highest level.”

In addition to keeping attendees entertained, an InFocus Play Big IN76 entertainment projector was featured in the exclusive 6,000 square-foot backstage hospitality suite, where it was well-received by both artists and record label executives on the forefront of the music industry.

On the small screen, InFocus is shaking things up a bit on this season of MTV’s Pimp My Ride with Mad Mike, car customization specialist installing an InFocus projector as the ultimate accessory to a pimped-out car during the fourth season premiere.

“The cars we work on are treated like luxury homes. We’re always looking for ways to bring innovative technologies and designs into every car we touch,” said Mad Mike, car customization specialist, known for his outrageous ideas and extreme engineering styles. “Inspired by the huge image size of home theaters, we took digital projection to the next level. Using a piece of reflection resistant glass and an InFocus projector, for the first time ever, we gave complete mobility to the home theater concept in someone’s new ride.”

As digital projection continues to become more prominent in the entertainment industry, InFocus continues to experience a shift in an increasing number of industry influentials inviting the company to participate at music festivals such as SxSW and Bonnaroo and other projects.
