Presentation Zen author Garr Reynolds gets a first-hand look at our IN3916 interactive projector while at the InFocus headquarters in Portland. He saw tremendous possibilities, including the ability to not just "push" content out to an audience like traditional presentations, but to "pull" as well. That's true collaboration! Garr also loved that he can annotate on slides and create a digital whiteboard all without leaving PowerPoint or other presentation software. Read More
Austrian-American artist Nin Brudermann uses six InFocus SP8602 projectors to display more than 150 separate video images from around the world in her fascinating video art installation “Twelve O’Clock in London.” The 20-minute video art presentation portrays an unprecedented collaboration of all the world’s governments to synchronously launch meteorological balloons at UTC 00.00h and 12.00h in order to measure the climatic conditions of the Earth’s atmosphere. In our Latin class, we often try to help kids understand what Pompeii was like before and after the eruption of Vesuvius in the first century A.D. It's difficult for kids to understand the gravity of the destruction. Google recently released street view of the Pompeii ruins, and this video shows how I use the InFocus Interactive Projector to navigate around Pompeii so they can see what it looks like to-day. And since the wand is portable, I can easily put it in their hands and let them drive. Read More
We donated an InFocus IN5110 projector to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, OR and they sent us this beautiful video as a thank-you. Wasn’t that nice?! Andrew from Spitball Media needed his IN5500 projector repaired after a power surge mishap (that also blew up his Mac), so he brought it to Product Engineer Michael Labare at the InFocus offices. This 3-part video trilogy showcases Mike’s handy repair work, mad guitar chops, and inside knowledge about DLP technology. If you ever wondered how a DLP projector works, Mike explains it here in terms that even our friend Andrew can understand. Read More
Classroom design is the topic of much discussion lately. The question we must answer when talking about classroom design is the intent that our classroom conveys by its design. What do my learners subconsciously think and/or feel when they enter the room? I wanted my classroom to be a bit of a black-box theatre where I can be among them, behind them, or around them but preferably not in front of my kids. This video is a tour of my classroom. Let me know what you think on Twitter @crafty184. – Chris Craft | 6th grade Spanish and Latin teacher in Columbia, SC and InFocus education guru Read More
“The value of an idea lies in the using of it.” –Thomas Edison Last year, we had a big idea. We were going to overhaul InFocus.com—an absolutely massive undertaking. And from day one, the ‘using of it’ was one of our guiding principles. We knew that what we did wouldn’t matter if we couldn’t make it useable, and useful, to our customers. In our minds this meant delivering a truly thoughtful site; one with intuitive design, clear product benefits, and meaningful tools (not just bells and whistles). Read More
