The upcoming interactive school year

An Interactive Year
Every year about this time I begin to really consider the school year and how it will likely be different than years past. This thinking is likely common to all teachers, but I often sit and wonder what I will think when the year is nearing its end.
Last year I felt like the year’s theme was moving beyond the board. This was the first year that I began to incorporate new interactive technologies like my IN3916 projector, which allowed me to untether myself from the board. This year, I intend to fully embrace this newfound interactivity.
One of the ways I am most excited about how that will work is through the Interactive Educator program. We teachers love to work together because we spur one another on to greatness. I am looking forward to the chance to explore how other teachers are using the interactive projector and other interactive technologies to change their classrooms from teacher-centered to student-centered.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am also considering the nature of our learning space (formerly called our classroom). I am looking into ways I can make our learning space more flexible for students. One way I intend to practically accomplish this goal is to give my students access to the interactive projector so they can relocate it based on their needs. It’s time for me to trust them with the interactivity, too.
